A journey from Brunei to Sarawak

Hedley, with his wife and daughter went to the Niah caves in Sarawak They are located on the east of Malaysia. They traveled by many ways and saw a lot of things.

They story started from Bandar Seri Begawan, and they drove to the border with Sarawak. They crossed Beleit River by ferry, so they took the lunch in Miri then moved to Niah, a small township. They saw a boy wearing pajamas, and then they hired a small boat and sailed to a government rest house, where they stayed the night. They ate with a group of scientists and shared the drinks with them. It was dark deep in the jungle and they slept without air conditioner.
On the second day morning they walked a half an hour in the jungle until they reached the Niah caves. It was bad, smelly and dark with a lot of birds and bats but inside the cave they saw people climbing the bamboo poles and wearing helmets with a light; then they scraped off birds’ nests from the roof and packed them into sacks. This nest is used as soup for the Chinese.

Finally they said goodbye to their new friends in the rest house and went on the long drive home; it was an adventure, a new experience and an unforgettable time.

Compare and contrast

There are a lot of similarities and differences between the life now and in the past. My essay is about comparing and contrasting the life in the UAE now and 40 years ago.

There are many similarities. Firstly the weather is still hot and humid the same as in the past and many people are trying to survive and to feel good. Secondly the religion is Islam and has never changed. After that the traditional dress is almost the same as dishdasha and guttra and it helps them a lot to reflect the sun and to keep the heat away. Finally football is still the favorite sport for most of the people.

There are so many differences. Firstly the population has tripled in the past 40 years. Second they have modern transportation such as trains and fast cars. After that, the buildings have become bigger and taller than the old buildings. Finally the roads are wider and much longer and made of asphalt.

Some people like the old life and the others love the modern life but I prefer the modern life because it makes my life easy, busy and with the latest technology.

compare living in a small town with living in a big city

Generally people have many changes because of the time orientation .Also countries all over the world are developing. Some people like to live in a small town, but some of them don’t.
I prefer to live in a big city.
In this essay I'm going to compare living in a small town with living in a big city. There are many similarities between the big city and a small town. The first similarity is that both of them have schools and hospitals. Also both of them have a police station to take care of the people. Another major similarity both places have roads to drive on.
Although there are many similarities there are also differences. The first difference is that a 'big city has an international airport, but in the small town there is not. The second difference is  a big city has a university while the people who live in a small town need to go to the big city to study higher education. Another difference is that people who live in a big city have a different life style than in a small town.
In my opinion, living in a big city is more comfortable for me because it has big malls ,an air port and all the services I need.

How to use an ATM

Using an ATM is a very simple procedure but you must follow these steps carefully for security reasons. Let me explain the procedure step by step.

First, go to the bank and select an ATM. Secondly, take your bank card from your wallet and put it into the machine as directed. Then enter your PIN, making sure that nobody sees it, as there is a growing amount of card fraud these days. After that, choose the service you require: deposit cash, withdraw cash, view balance, or whatever. If you are withdrawing cash make sure you retrieve your bankcard quicly as you only have a limited time to do so before the machine takes back your cash. Finally, take your receipt from the ATM.

As you can see, using an ATM is not a difficult procedure. However, you must follow the above steps carefully and take care. Always make sure you follow the correct procedure for security reasons.

Booking a holiday

How to book a holiday

Going on holiday can, surprisingly, be quite stressful, so it’s important to get everything right when you book.

First of all, choose a date of departure and return. Then select a destination and a place to stay. If you are going abroad, make sure you book flights which are convenient. Nowadays you can book flights and hotels online. When you have done this, make sure your passport is in order. Check to see if you need visas or other documents. After that, get information about the climate, so that you can choose suitable clothing for your trip. Also don't forget to take some local currency with you and that you know how to get extra money while you are away. Finally, it’s a good idea to read about the culture and traditions of whichever country you are visiting; if necessary, make a list of dos and don’ts.

Remembering everything is not easy but if you follow these basic steps you have done as much as you can to arrange a super holiday.
